Glazed Hakurei Turnips
Ingredients:
1 bunch hakurei turnips, washed and halved
1/4 - 1/2 cup water
2 T butter
salt to taste
Directions:
Place turnips in a pan and add water to cover about one third or half way up the sides of the turnips. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Lower heat to a simmer and cook, stirring ocassionally, until the turnips are just tender. You can add another splash of water if the pan runs dry before the turnips are finished cooking. When the liquid is mostly evaporated and the turnips are tender (about 15 minutes), add the butter and saute for a 2-3 minutes. You can also add the washed, chopped turnip greens at this point. When the greens are wilted, remove the pan from the heat. Check for seasoning, salt to taste, and serve.
