CSA Pickup Instructions

Our weekly newsletter will go out Monday night or Tuesday morning. Give it a read so you know what to expect for the week.

Share these instructions with your pickup person.

Pickup is from 3:30-6PM. Please do not arrive before 3:30, we have an agreement with the school that we will not have people coming and going before that time. It’s a safety concern with the school traffic as well. Also, if you are going to be running late, give us a call and we will try to put aside a box of your items so that nobody is staying too late.

  • When you arrive, park along the fence (inside or outside), grab your box or bags, and head to the check-in table in the red barn. (we will also have a bag-lending “library”).

  • The table will have printouts with your name, share size, and any add-ons you’ve subscribed to for the week. Please review this and then use a marker to strike through the line with your info on it.

  • Check the chalk board for a rundown of this week’s share items and quantities for your share size.

  • Proceed around the barn in a clockwise direction, selecting your items as you go. Consult the laminated signs for clarity, or ask a crew member!

  • We’ve arranged the “loop” in a logical way that makes it easy and efficient to fill your containers, so please stick to that order.

  • If you do not have add-on subscriptions, skip that table and proceed to the credit store.

  • If you have an add-on subscription, please take your items.

  • At the credit store, you may purchase extra items as you wish, or purchase more credits at any time.

  • Head back to your car, take your bounty home, and enjoy! Remember to check the recipe hub for inspiration.

  • To exit, follow the signs to drive THROUGH the farm and out the side/back. When you hit the paved driveway, you’ll turn left to get back to the main Garrett Williamson drive. Turning right onto the GW drive will take you back to Bishop Hollow Road.

PLEASE share these instructions with every person in your household that may do a pickup, and anyone else you send in your stead.

The biggest source of confusion is usually the difference between add-on subscriptions and items available in the credits store. It’s possibly because some folks have subscribed to add-on bread, eggs, cheese, and mushrooms… and sometimes those same items will be available in the credits store. The best way to ensure you’re not detracting from anybody else’s share is to never remove an item from the add-ons table if you haven’t subscribed to it.

If you want something and you’re not sure if it’s subscription or credit, just ask! That’s what we’re here for. Ask, ask, ask for clarification.

Common questions:

“What if I can’t pickup on my usual day?” If you need to occasionally switch from one pickup day to another, that’s okay! No need to notify us. If you’d like to permanently switch pickup days, please email Liss.

“What if I’m going out of town?” We love it when you send a neighbor or friend in your stead. Again, no need to notify us, but please do share the pickup instructions and that week’s newsletter with them. They will simply find your name and subscriptions at check-in and cross it off for you.

”What if I completely miss a pickup?” Not to worry, the food did not go to waste. We send 40 shares a week to a local charitable distribution center, and will add surplus food to those shares.

”What can I compost?” Anything plant based. It’s easier to tell you what you can not put in this compost: egg shells, dairy, animal fats, meat, fish, bones, pet waste, or biodegrable plastics.
